On November 21st, 2025 a delegation from RIC was invited by the Marshall Office of the Łódzkie Voivodeship to the municipality of Kamieńsk for a meeting with local authorities, entrepreneurs and citizens organised within the framework of the Life After Coal project (#LifeAfterCoalPL). The project helps to prepare for the transformation of the Bełchatów region, which involves phasing-out the Europe’s largest lignite-fired power plant – the Bełchatów Power Station and the nearby lignite strip mine. Marcin Siedlecki gave a presentation about the BeBOP project and explained how the BeBOP solution could fill the gap after the shutdown of the power plant, and to maintain the industrial activity in the region – this time based on renewables!
